By Scott Gilfoid: If WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) needed a reason to whip Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) on Saturday night in Quebec, Canada, he found it at today’s weigh-in, when Bellew reportedly called Stevenson “A pimp” while the two were standing for the face off, according to RDS.

Stevenson said this via RDS “I approached and he put his head forward before pushing me. I thought I’d rip his head off right then and **** there. This guy is really desperate . He’s scared, I saw in his eyes. That’s why he does it all. He’s nervous and tries to show that he is confident. Soon he will make a mistake. I’ll knock him out.”

Bellew weighed in at 175 lbs., whereas Stevenson came in at 174.4.

As angry as Stevenson looked, I think he’s going to destroy Bellew on Saturday night. Bellew crossed the line by calling him a pimp and bringing up his past from a decade ago. That move by Bellew was dealing from the bottom of the deck, and it looks like Stevenson is no longer playing Mr. nice guy. That’s the thing with Stevenson. He’s very humble, kind and nice until someone rubs him the wrong way, and then he can show a different side of him that is scary. I guess it’s good for Bellew because it’ll be over quicker on Saturday night rather than if Stevenson were to take his time with him the same way he did in beating Don George.

Bellew pretty much only has one chance in this fight and that’s by going all out in the 1st round and hoping he can land something big before Stevenson does. I don’t see that happening. This bout has 1st round knockout written all over it, and it’s going to be brutal for Bellew unless he can get lucky.
