Nacho Beristain picks Mayweather Jr. over his Countryman Saul Alvarez

floyd15173By Vitali Shaposhnikov: Hope is something that no man should give up on, or abandon at any point in time. No matter what the odds are, no matter what obstacles are in the way, optimism and belief in miracles can carry people far.

Unfortunately aside from hope, there isn’t much else riding with the fans of Saul Alvarez for his upcoming bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Looking at the official betting odds as well stylistic strengths and weaknesses, Mayweather Jr. is as always, a huge favorite. Despite Canelo being a young hungry champion with an unblemished record, many boxing fans and analysts agree that this fight will not be as challenging as hype projects it to be for Floyd.

While it’s important to be patriotic and root for one’s countryman, truth has the tendency to revel itself sooner or later.

Even the legendary trainer of Juan Manuel Marquez, Nacho Beristain, admitted that he doesn’t give much of a chance to Alvarez in his fight against Mayweather Jr.

“As a Mexican I would like to think that Canelo will win because it will be a historic triumphant. It will be something very valuable for Mexican boxing but I see it hard. Very difficult…very difficult because Mayweather is super defensive boxer, intelligent, fast, and honestly I don’t see where the miracle can happen,” stated Beristain in a recent interview with EsNews.

Beristain is absolutely correct, miracles have their own odds, and for Canelo a lot of things have to line up perfectly in order for him to do something that many other champions couldn’t even come close to. Beating Mayweather Jr. is not about power or speed, or offense and defense; instead it’s about the perfect plan, blueprint as Floyd likes to call it.

Being a seasoned professional trainer with ability to spot any and all imperfections in fighters, Nacho’s opinion is of huge value. If he cannot find a solid way for Alvarez to win, there simply might not be a clear cut way to do so.

Maybe beating Floyd is all about that one lucky punch that gets through? Is it possible that the only way to increase those odds of landing that one perfect shot is by throwing very high volume of punches?

Either way we are getting closer to fight night, and the intrigue combined with anticipation is most certainly growing fast.
