Is Angel Garcia a clever mastermind?

By Rav: It has become clear that WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (27-0, 16 KO’s) is actually an underrated and underestimated fighter who keeps delivering as his father and trainer has said, and keeps saying but he keeps on delivering time and time again.

Danny was just looked at as an average fighter coming up and nothing was expected of him. He was expected to be beaten by Kendall Holt, taken to school by Erik Morales and knocked out by Amir Khan. Garcia was supposed to be brutally knocked out cold by Lucas Matthysse, but instead he beat them all in the way he wasn’t supposed to beat them.

Angel Garcia the father and trainer has been sounding off against Danny’s opponents before fights, but is this actually a clever ploy to unsettle his opponents mentally and take the pressure off Danny, and galvanize him even more to produce his best on the night of the fight?

Well it’s working. Not only does Angel galvanize Danny, he takes all the pressure off his son, and he just keeps winning. The truth is Danny was supposed to lose a long time ago, but has shown he can adapt to any style and adapt depending on the way the fight goes.

Angel Garcia is showing that a father son team can work. As a father, he is more than just a trainer and this seems to bring the best out of Danny. Angel Garcia has also shown the way he trains Danny, as technically Danny seems to improve in every fight, and shows he can adapt to any style.

Angel Garcia talks about the mental side of preparing a fighter to go in to battle of which many fighters, and trainers underestimate, but Angel prepares Danny mentally very well every time. Can anyone remember the Khan and Matthysse press conferences? People laughed and thought Angel was crazy, but look at how each fight planned out. Love him or loathe him whether you think he is a crazy lunatic or a very smart clever mastermind based on the results, it is clearly working and Angel is delivering everything he says!
