Alvarez’s and Garcia’s body language tells us what’s to come for tommorow night

canelo55434By Chester Rivers: They say a picture is worth a thousand words but at first glance at Danny Garcia and Saul Alvarez body language at the live weigh-in I could only say two words, “Oh No”! Both fighters barely made weight and it showed. Both fighters also looked very nervous and dehydrated.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez seemed to be dehydrated the most. One sign of dehydration is discoloration of the skin. Looking at Saul’s face I noticed the circles around his eyes were pale while his cheeks were flush. After Saul made his ring walk he took the stage and immediately sat down. Was he sitting because of weakness from taking off the extra weight or was he harnessing some nervous energy?

Floyd, ironically, pranced down the aisle, stopped to take in the crowd, then jogged across the stage. Floyd seemed to me to be very comfortable while Canelo’s expression was more of (what have I gotten myself into?). After the fighters were weighed it was time for a photo-op. Each fighter was suppose to hold the belt simultaneously. Floyd tried to get Canelo’s attention by touching his arm. Canelo snatched away and refused to participate. Some of the audience cheered while others sat there confused by Alvarez’s behavior.

Have Floyd and the moment finally gotten to Saul and it’s starting to show? I don’t know but his body language has made me change my prediction for tomorrow night fight. I originally thought Mayweather would win a close decision but after interpreting Alvarez’s body language I’m now convinced of a knockout by Floyd Mayweather.

Danny Garcia missed weight by a half pound on his first attempt but made it moments later. Danny did not look comfortable during the entire event. Lucas Matthysse looked as though he was there to take care of business. The biggest difference I interpreted from both their body languages were Garcia is HOPING to win while Matthysse is EXPECTING to win. Confidence is a needed ingredient in a champion fighter. I originally thought Garcia would outclass Matthysse but I’m now convinced Matthysse will get rid of Danny by the fifth round.

If nothing else this has been a fun and exciting 4 months leading up to the fight. I only hope the fights live up to the hype but after reading Alvarez’s and Garcia’s body language “The One” will be on Alvarez’s and Garcia’s records in the loss column.
