Scott to beat Chisora by lopsided decision – Prediction

scott36By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (16-4, 10 KO’s) is in really tough tonight against unbeaten American Malik Scotto (35-0-1, 12 KO’s) at the Wembley Arena in London, UK. This is really not a good fight for Chisora. Scott has way too much boxing skills going for him to be beaten by a short, rounded fighter like the 6’1”, 242 lbs.

Chisora. Scott likes to move a lot, and he’s not like one of the typical opponents that Chisora has beaten in the past. I see this fight going badly for Chisora, and I can’t see him winning more than one or two rounds at best, and even then I think it’s going to be more of a situation where he’s given rounds that arguably should have been given to Scott.

The funny part about all this is that Chisora thinks he’s going to wear Scott down with his pressure. I’m sorry but I don’t see that happening. Scott is too talented, and Chisora is too much of a plodder to wear down a fighter like Scott. The American is built for movement. I mean, just look at his body, look at his past fights, and look at how easily be is able to move constantly without getting tired.

Scott fights on the move anyway whether he’s in with a pressure fighter or not. But if you put him in with a slower plodder like Chisora, it’s like stealing candy from a baby. It’s too easy for Scott, because Chisora is so painfully slow on his feet. He would need jets on his feet in order to compete with a superb talent like Scott, and he would need to be able to throw more than one slow punch at a time. And look at the way Chisora is unable to throw combinations.

It’s telegraphed one punch at a time type of stuff. When Chisora throws more than a handful of punches per round, he opens up his mouth starts gasping for breath. You can see his mouthpiece half the time, and then he needs to retreat to the ropes and rest. It’s just sad to watch.

Now imagine what it’s going to be like to have a fast fighter like Malik Scott in there with Chisora, nailing him with punch after punch, moving constantly, and punishing him with big power shots when he’s gasping for breath against the ropes.

Like I said, I see Scott winning by a lopsided 10 round unanimous decision tonight. And what’s up with the fight not being scheduled for 12 rounds? Was that done in order to keep Chisora from gassing out and getting battered by the slim American in the later rounds?
