Fury wants winner takes all fight with David Haye

fury54By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) is talking about wanting a winner takes all fight with former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s), and he’s saying that Haye ran off after he agreed to a 50-50 deal to fight him.

However, Haye is saying something different, saying that Fury turned down a 50-50 deal when he attempted to make the fight happen with him.

Fury said in a video he put on his twitter today: “Team-Haye offered The Fury team a 70/30 split Haye’s way. We said not a chance in history. Both teams then agreed 50/50 five or six weeks ago. Next thing we know, David Haye has come to sign but it’s not happening – he’s run away somewhere to India and won’t sign…why don’t we do a winner takes all?…I believe I’m going to knock you out.”

I don’t think it’s possible to have a “winner takes all” fight even if Haye were to agree with this nonsense. Fury should know this and stop wasting time blabbing about it.

I wish the two of them would move on already. It’s clear that one of them doesn’t fancy the job and are making excuses for why it won’t happen. Haye’s saying that Fury turned the 50-50 deal down, and now Fury is saying he agreed on it and Haye walked away.

I find that hard to believe that Haye would walk away from a fight that would be so easy for him to win. Fury is made to order for Haye, and just begging to get knocked out with his upright fighting style, poor defense and shaky chin. Why would Haye walk away from an easy fight like that?

What’s really interesting is that Fury said on his twitter that he wanted an “80/20” split for a Haye fight on the same day that Haye said that Fury wouldn’t agree to the 50/50 offer. So what does that tell you? Was Fury just joking when he said that? If so, why make a joke when Haye just said you turned down the 50/50 deal? This would have been the perfect opportunity for Fury to tell the boxing fans his side of what happened instead of waiting a week later to tell them.
