broner311By Allan Fox: WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner (26-0, 22 KO’s) was briefly detained on Monday after getting arrested for allegedly biting a security card that had stepped in to halt a scuffle that had broken out at the expensive Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, Florida.

According to the Huffingtonpost.com, the 23-year-old Broner was involved in a fight against Michael Owensby at 3:30 a.m. outside of the hotel on the valet ramp. Two security guards responded to the scene to break up the fight, and during this time Broner allegedly bit one of them on the forearm.

Shortly after that, Broner was taken into custody. The officers that arrested Broner reportedly saw a bite wound on the arm of one of the security guards. There are no reports of Broner hitting anyone, but they did say Broner was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the arrest. Broner was eventually released on $1,500 bond.

Broner has kept quiet about what actually happened that night aside from sending this tweet: They tried to keep a n***** locked down in MIA.” Broner posted a mug shot photo of himself, but then then quickly took it down but not before it had been seen by a lot of people on his twitter site.

If Broner’s goal is to try and be like his hero Floyd Mayweather Jr., he’s off to a good start, but he needs to be careful because he can’t afford to blow it now before he makes it big. Mayweather has had his share problems, but he was already rich and famous before he started having a lot of the problems that he’s had. Broner still hasn’t made big money yet, and he’s not yet headlined his own PPV show. He’s not at that level, and it’s questionable whether he ever will be.

Mayweather was blessed with amazing hand speed, defensive skills and talent when he was younger. Broner doesn’t have Mayweather’s hand speed, and he’s forced to mix it up a lot more in order to get his wins. That’s all well and good right now because he’s not faced anyone that you can call good. Things could change in the future when he starts facing better opposition. We may find out that he doesn’t have the talent to become a PPV star.
