Amir Khan calls for an eliminator

khan45By Mark Havey: Amir Khan has often made the mistake of talking about other fights whilst training for another. Effectively dispersing his focus to places it shouldn’t be. history has proven that is never wise to over look an opponent. During his training camp for his fight with Lamont Peterson, Amir Khan repeatedly called out Floyd Mayweather.

He lost a close fight on points. Throughout training for Danny Garcia, Khan again issued challenges to Mayweather. Garcia knocked Khan out in round 4.

Khan recently used his Facebook page to propose an eliminator. Not a bad idea if he was suggesting a way in which he could earn a fight with Garcia, but he didn’t do that. Instead he thinks that Danny Garcia vs Lamont Peterson should take place. The winner should then face him.

I’m sure that Amir Khan is left perplexed by the negative comments this post generated. And this is the reason Khan has lost so many fans over the past few years. If two men beat him, why should they earn a rematch with him? why do they even need that rematch? He needs that fight and they don’t. Khan should be trying to earn a fight with them. I think Garcia vs Peterson is a great idea. But should the winners prize be a fight with Amir Khan? Doesn’t sound like a appealing prize.

I said Khan fought well against Maidana and I praised him for it. but every other article I do on him seems to be negative. It’s not that I don’t like him. In my opinion Amir Khan has real talent. He isn’t at pound 4 pound level but he is world level of course. It’s the things he says that aggravate me. in short, he has a superiority complex. He claims to be great but fails to deliver. When he does lose he blames his trainers and says all the other fighters for avoiding him. He should have accepted responsibility and told his fans, “I am sorry. It’s back to the drawing board”.

Getting knocked out in 4 rounds and then calling yourself great will either annoy people or make them laugh. But they won’t respect it. A rematch with both of his Conquerors is a good idea, but it’s not his right. He must earn that privilege. He will never earn it by beating the small Carlos Molina and old Julio Diaz. No one at Khan’s level should need two confidence fights. will time be wasted with a 3rd? I suspect so. All fans won’t from Amir Khan is less talking, more fighting.
