Broner even took Rees’ chair, forcing him to move to the other side of the podium.

Broner said “I’m 23, young and gifted. I respect Cabbage Reef; what’s your name – Cabin Fever? I don’t know, I don’t know his name, but I respect him. But at the end of the day training camp was fun. I don’t watch no tape, I never saw him fight before. I can say I heard he was a world champion at light welterweight. He’s going to sleep [on Saturday night]. I’m not going to miss that boulder on his shoulders. He’s going to be there all night as long as he lasts. He’s not going to last that long…I’m sorry someone has to pay, and that’s going to be Gabbin Reeves, ah Cabbage. I don’t know his name.”

Rees was a little testy when it was his turn to speak, but I must confess that it was incredibly hard to try and understand his accented English because he almost sounded like he was muttering and slurring at the same time. Anyways, here’s what Rees said: “I’m looking forward to knocking you out. I’m going to knock you out cold. What do you have to say about that? Will see, yeah.”

Broner: “You look terrible. You’re ugly too!”

Rees: “What are you going to say when I knock you out on Saturday night? I can’t wait.”
Broner: “You’re really ugly.”

Any way you look at this fight, it shapes up to be a terrible mismatch unless Rees suddenly shows talent and ability that he’s never displayed before in any of his fights. I don’t know how Rees will do that at 32, because he’s already tapped out his talent and he’s not getting any better.
