fury7By Scott Gilfoid: With the news that IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will be fighting on April 6th against a still to be determined opponent in Germany, unbeaten Tyson Fury (20-0, 14 KO’s) is now hoping that his promoter Mick Hennessy can make this fight happen.

Fury said to Hennessy on his twitter today “Please make this happen.”

Gosh, it almost sounds like Fury is begging for the fight.

Fury’s band of followers quickly joined in, dreaming about how Fury would beat Wladimir if given the chance and this and that. It’s all such a dream.

First of all, Wladimir isn’t going to waste time fighting the 6’9” Fury because he’s not a big name in Germany, and there’s no interest in the fight over there. There’s no money in fighting a slapper like Fury. The guy that Wladimir will fight, since it’s optional title defense for him, will be someone that’s well known among the German boxing fans, someone like Manuel Charr, Odlanier Solis, Denis Boytsov and Robert Helenius.

Believe me, Wladimir’s next opponent will come from those four fighters I’ve listed and not against a big gum flapper like Fury. The Brits going to have to wait until he becomes a mandatory challenger or he fights for a vacant title because Wladimir and his brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko won’t pick out Fury because it’s not a fight that will sell in Germany, it’s as simple as that.

What Fury needs to do is stop fighting all those weak and obscure guys that he’s been fighting and step it up a couple levels to take on some of the better contenders like Kubrat Pulev, Chris Arreola and Boytsov. If Fury starts fighting the quality guys in the heavyweight division then he’ll start getting some attention from the likes of the Klitschko brothers because he’ll make a name for himself in the ring instead of outside of the ring with all of his trash talking.
