Chavez Sr: Nonito Donaire is the next P4P king
Mexican Boxing Legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. was asked to give his thoughts if who’s going to be the next P4P king. A tough choice for the Mexican legend, but he picked WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. to be the one to reign over the sport.
Recently, ESPN asked Chavez Sr. if who will be the sport’s next no.1 pound for pound best? Chavez Sr. replied; “It’s hard to pick one, but I definitely think Nonito Donaire has demonstrated that he is one of the best in the world.” And he went on to add ” I think Donaire will be the one to reign over the sport.”
Nonito Donaire Jr. (31-1-o-20) is currently rated by The Ring as the number five pound-for-pound boxer in the world and expect him to move up in ranking if he beat one of his fellow super bantamweight champions Abner Mares and Guillermo Rigondeaux.
Lately, boxing community demanding Donaire to fight Abner Mares and Guillermo Rigondeaux cause they think they’re all that’s left in the super bantamweight division, but with or without Mares and Rigondeaux there are still even more legacy-improving and big fights for Donaire in higher division.
Donaire can fight Daniel Ponce De Leon, Chris John, Juan Manuel Lopez,Takashi Uchiyama, Juan Carlos Salgado or Yuriokis Gamboa. The featherweight, super featherweight and Lightweight divisions each have good fights for Donaire.
