Price or Fury will win a world title in 2013

fury5445Despite what some writers believe on this site, I am firm believer that UK boxing is definitely on the rise. We have world champions in Carl Froch and Nathan Cleverley. We also have talents such as Kell Brook and Scott Quigg, but I believe the heavyweight division in the UK is the most exciting at the moment.

British heavyweights David Price and Tyson Fury are both undefeated and close to world tittle shots. Also we have Derek Chisora and David Haye to bolster our world class pool of heavyweights.

I do believe either Tyson Fury or David Price will win a world title in the next 12 months, but the question is who is closer?

Price hasn’t put a foot wrong in his pro career so far. He knocked out everyone he faced in 2012 and only fought a handful of rounds, albeit against limited opposition. He has done what has been asked of him and looked good in beating what’s been out in front of him.

With Tyson Fury you never know what your going to get. Sometimes his boxing is majestic and brilliant, but sometimes very average. He has boxes better opposition than Price though. Fury is still undefeated and ranked much higher than the hard hitting Price, proving it takes more than just a heavy dig to be a successful fighter.

I believe Fury is closer than price right now and if he were to fight WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin, I think Fury would wipe the floor with him. So I’m going to go with Fury to win a world title in 2013.

What do my fellow boxing fans think?
