By Chris Williams: WBO flyweight champion Brian Viloria (31-3, 18 KO’s) weighed in today at 111.8 pounds for his unification fight on Saturday night WBA flyweight champion Hernan “Tyson” Marquez (34-2, 25 KO’s) at the Sports Arena, in Los Angeles, California, USA. Marquez weighed in at 110.8 lbs.

Viloria, 31, has a tough fight on his hands against the younger 24-year-old Marquez we’re talking youth against age and Marquez is just now hitting his stride in his career after having won his last seven fights and he looks unbeatable at this juncture.

Marquez had problems a couple of years ago when he was fighting the likes of Nonito Donaire and Richie Mepranum, but he’s improved dramatically since then and is beating everyone he faces now.

Viloria has the speed and power, but he could have problems with Marquez’s youth. Viloria has been beating older guys than Marquez and it’s not going to be easy for him this time around because Marquez is just going to keep pressuring on him until something gives. Either Viloria runs out of gas and gets stopped or Marquez runs into something big from Viloria and gets knocked out. I kind of doubt that because Viloria doesn’t have that kind of power to worry someone like Marquez.

Viloria has beaten Omar Nino, Giovani Segura, Liempetch Sor Veerapol and Omar Soto in his last four fights. However, Viloria was stopped by Carlos Tamara in 2010, and Marquez is certainly a bigger puncher than Tamara. All Tamara did was stick around long enough to wear Viloria down and halt him after hurting him in the 12th. Marquez can do the same thing but much earlier in the fight due to his power and his constant pressure.

Other weights on the card:

Drian Francisco 120 – Javier Gallo 119
Hanzel Martinez 118 – Alejandro Moreno 118
