Kessler this about his lopsided loss to Ward: “Ward knows he owes me a rematch. That was not the real Viking Warrior [Kessler] in the ring that night. I was at my best against [Carl] Froch…Ward had better get ready.”

The fact is Kessler was dominated by a boxing superstar in Ward on that night. It’s hilarious that Kessler is now flapping his gums about not being at his best. What the heck happened? If that wasn’t Kessler’s best then what kept him from fighting at his best? He was beaten so badly that you can only come to one conclusion about him. He’s just not talented enough to beat a star like Ward.

Ward responded to this on his twitter today, saying “LOL! You don’t have to get ready when you stay ready, baby! Don’t get me fired up!”

Ward has been wanting a rematch with Kessler for years now just to shut him up because Kessler has been talking every since the loss, blaming his crushing defeat on being a head-butted accidentally once or twice. But come on, it’s so flimsy hearing excuses from Kessler about the schooling he got from Ward. He was never competitive for an instant in that fight, and had the fight not been halted in the 11th round because of Kessler’s cuts, I think Ward would have stopped in that round. It got really one-sided in the 10th, and Kessler just a punching bag by that point in the fight.

Ward wanted to get Kessler in the ring since then but Kessler has opted for easy fights against Mehdi Bouadla and Allan Green.

Kessler will be fighting Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25 KO’s) on December 8th for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) World super middleweight title at the BOXEN, in Herning, Denmark.
