Image: Froch: I want Andre Ward rematch in the UKBy Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KO’s) is still looking past his November 17th fight against Yusaf Mack (31-4-2, 17 KO’s) towards a hoped for revenge rematch against Andre Ward despite the fact that Mack has the power to end Froch’s career with a single swing.

I don’t know why it is but the loss to Ward seems to have really gotten to Froch because he can’t let go of that defeat for some reason. He’s like a hungry dog that can’t get go of a bone. Froch shouldn’t even be thinking Ward fight now because before Froch can even get to that stage, he has to beat #1 Mack, #2 Lucian Bute, and #3 Mikkel Kessler.

Let’s be real here. Anyone of those guys are talented enough stop Froch long before he gets his dream rematch against Ward. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mack knocks Froch out cold later this month Capital FM Arena, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom. Mack may be a little vulnerable against punchers, but he’s the biggest puncher that Froch will have faced in his career. Mack is a bigger puncher than Ward, Andre Dirrell, Lucian Bute, Jermain Taylor and Jean Pascal. He may not be as talented but he’s a bigger puncher for sure.

Froch said to Sky Sports News “Let’s get Andre Ward over to England to see if he can tackle the Carl Froch that served up a real bad whipping to Lucian Bute that night, but one step at a time. I’ve got Yusaf Mack to deal with on the 17th of November. I’ve got to take him very seriously.”

Froch isn’t going to get Ward over to the UK. That’s not happening because Ward is the multiple belt champion, not Froch. Ward is the one that boxing fans and writers alike see as the best fighter in the super middleweight division right now, not Froch. Ward is the one that gave Froch a royal whipping in the Super Six tournament finals last December, not vice versa.
