Image: Devon Alexander vs. Kell Brook on 1/19 in U.SBy Scott Gilfoid: Well, it looks after all the fuss that Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn made about trying to get IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (24-1, 13 KO’s) to come over to the UK to fight his guy Kell Brook (29-0, 19 KO’s) it doesn’t look as if Hearn is going to get his way, as RingTV is reporting that an agreement has been made for the fight to take place on January 19th in the United States.

What this means of course is that Brook will have little chance of beating Alexander because Alexander is pretty unbeatable in the U.S. Brook will have little chance of winning the fight unless he can score a knockout.

It’s unclear if the fight will be taking place in Saint Louis, Alexander’s home city, or another city. Whatever the case, Brook is going to be up against it now and I wish him a lot of luck. He may have lost his only chance of winning the fight.

Alexander looked sensational recently in defeating former IBF welterweight champion Randall Bailey last month in an impressive 12 round unanimous decision at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Brook recently defeated an obscure fighter by the name of Hector David Saldivia last month by a 3rd round TKO in an International Boxing Federation 147 pound eliminator bout.
