Image: Roger Mayweather: Floyd Jr. can make $200 million fighting Pacquiao and BradleyBy Chris Williams: Floyd Mayweather Jr’s trainer/uncle Roger Mayweather believes that Floyd Jr. only needs two more fights – Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley – to retire on and make big, big bank to where he won’t ever need to fight again.

Roger told writer Chris Robinson at Examiner.com “The fight with Floyd is Pacquiao. That’s the fight. He fights Timothy Bradley, he fights Pacquiao. He’ll make so much money. He’ll make close to $200 million.”

Roger believes that Floyd would have no reason to continue fighting after he makes $200 million in those fights. However, even if Mayweather did fight both of those guys, I still see him blowing through whatever money he gets from those fights and winding up back in the ring looking for more. It will take some time burn through that kind of money, but I see it gone at some point and Mayweather likely coming back. What we don’t need is Mayweather still fighting in his 40s after blowing all of his money.

I think Floyd Jr. is going to need to start making those fights happen and REAL SOON, because Pacquiao already just lost and he could end up losing again in his next fight against Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8th. And Bradley just looks musclebound and slow at welterweight.

He was fairly quick but weak at light welterweight, but welterweight Bradley is fighting like someone that has spent too much time lifting weights. All that useless muscle that Bradley put on to fight Pacquiao had him fighting like he just done a three hour weight lifting workout and was too constricted to punch with any speed or power. Bradley could lose to almost anyone that he fights next on December 15th.

What Mayweather doesn’t need is both Bradley and Pacquiao losing their next fights, and thereby killing a lot of the interest that would be there for a Pacquiao-Mayweather and/or Mayweather-Bradley fight. Those guys can get beaten at any time. Mayweather could still fight them, to be sure, but do really think boxing fans will gladly throw away $60 to see Mayweather fight Pacquiao off of consecutive losses for Bradley after he faces someone like Ruslan Provodnikov or Robert Guerrero and gets beaten?
