Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Who Cares?

Image: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Who Cares?By Dan Henderson: Manny Pacquiao recently told the media that he would accept 45% of the split and agreed to random blood testing, now everyone is waiting on Mayweather’s response and to be honest you ain’t going to like what you hear. If everyone remembers correctly then you will know Floyd offered Manny a flat $40,000,000 and no cut of the PPV and yes I know this would be his biggest payday but why should he take that especially when he could make 45% of an estimated $200,000,000 fight?

All Floyd will most likely say (and to all the Floydiots reading this) I’m only speculating but it will probably be this “Why should the little fella get 45%? He lost his title in his last fight so he should get a low split because he is only a challenger” but why should Floyd feel he deserves all the money? I know he holds the PPV records but that is down to the choice of opponents because it’s easy to do big numbers when you have Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto in the opposing corner but when its all said and done he needs Manny to do these numbers as he won’t make these numbers with anyone else. Second of all there will be the issue of weight as Mayweather is currently a two weight world champion so what title will they fight for? We know it will be the 147lb title because Manny won’t do a 154lb because that’s what scuppered the proposed rematch with Miguel Cotto as he wasn’t prepared to step up he wanted another catchweight fight.

The point I’m trying to make is that no one cares about this fight anymore their both at fault for the fight not happening and to be honest Pacquiao probably said what he did in a lame attempt to spark interest in his upcoming fight with Juan Manuel Marquez because that is going to need all the help in the world to do good PPV numbers as its the 4th fight.

The Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight should’ve happened back in 2009 and it still hasn’t and I can’t see it happening anytime soon because there will always be an excuse from either fighter as to why it won’t happen. As always ill look forward to the abuse from the Floydiots and Pactards and also the proper comments from the more knowledgeable.
