Reid who made his ring debut back in February 1993, went on to claim his first world title with a 7th round stoppage of the hard Italian Vincenzo Nardiello in Italy way back in 96.

Reid did go on to win another 2 of the lesser world titles but had 2 of his best performances against Joe Calzaghe and Sven Ottke, losing by very close decisions in both. Both of those losses could easily have been reversed.

After a heavy loss to the American fighter Jeff Lacy, Reid came back with a winning performance against reality television contender participant Jesse Brinkley. Brinkley went on to unsuccessfully challenge Lucien Bute for his belt.

After Brinkley, Reid suffered another heavy loss to Carl Froch, which seamed to signal the end of his career, but after a good layoff and unsuccessful stint in the prizefighter tournament he has had back to back TKO wins.

Anderson, since the loss to George Groves back in 2010 has been keeping busy with 5 straight wins. He has been waiting patiently for a Groves rematch but for a number of reasons it hasn’t materialized.

In the Groves fight, a shock was nearly on the cards with Groves hitting the deck in round 3 and looked in trouble, only for Anderson to tire. Anderson did take the fight at short notice, but with a good training camp behind him would be more than a match for him in a rematch, a rematch I hope takes place.

Before that though Anderson needs to take care of Robin Reid first. Anderson is a rugged, tough fighter that I think in this stage of both careers will probably have to much and should get a mid to late stoppage, but both in their , there might be another winner.
