Haye figures he should be next, and feels that a fight between him and Vitali would be the 2nd biggest fight in boxing behind the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao mega fight.

Haye told Sky Sports News “He’s much bigger than me. It’s a David vs. Goliath type of fight. It’s a fight I know I can win, and if I can get the opportunity I’ll do it. He said to go and fight Dereck Chisora and then come fight me afterwards. I fought Dereck Chisora and I beat him a lot more convincing than Vitali did, thinking that’s going to get be the fight. And what does he do? He turns around and announces he’s going to fight Manuel Charr. So hopefully after he [Vitali] loses his election we can make a mega fight.”

The election that Haye is referring to is the parliament election that Vitali will be participating in next month in Ukraine. Vitali wants to become a politician and has said he could retire if he wins a seat in parliament. It remains to be seen whether he’ll be elected and if he’ll be interested in fighting Haye. As of now, Vitali hasn’t said a word about whether he’ll fight Haye. This obviously isn’t making Haye happy, because he doesn’t have a lot of options for big money fights in the heavyweight division.

Haye was already beaten last year by Wladimir Klitschko in July of 2011, and you can’t sell a rematch between those two fighters due to how one-sided the fight was. Haye absolutely needs Vitali in order to get a big payday, at least until the top British heavyweight Tyson Fury and David Price finally make a name for themselves on the world stage.
