Who would you rather see fight?

Image: Who would you rather see fight?By Mohammad Malik: I don’t know if it’s just me but I can honestly say that I’ve lost quite a bit of interest in the whole Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao saga. After watching their last fights, it was obvious that they have lost a step or two.

The casual fans will always buy into the hype no matter when the fight takes place. But the hardcore fans know too well that Pacquiao and Mayweather are past their prime. Timothy Bradley said it best, “I think he’s declining. He had me hurt in the ninth round and couldn’t finish me. The old Manny could’ve done that.”

Even though I think Pacquiao won that fight, it was still easy to see that Pacquiao was not the same fighter anymore. Please correct me if I’m wrong but Floyd on the other hand got hit more than ever before in his fight with Miguel Cotto. Their fight should have taken place between 2007 and 2010, when they were pretty much untouchable in terms of skills. I don’t know whether to blame the promoters, politics or the fighter’s themselves. But at some point, the blame must be shared.

I feel that there are some great fights that need to be made. And I wish the focus would turn to making some of these fights a reality. I have a few on my wish list that I would definitely pay to watch. Once again, I don’t know if we will ever get to see any of these fights from taking place. But here is the list anyway:

* Lucas Matthysse vs. Marcos Maidana: I think this fight would be an all-out brawl.

* Canelo Alvarez vs. Miguel Cotto: I think this fight offers little bit of everything.

* Adrien Broner vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa: I think this fight will show whether Broner is really in Mayweather’s class.

* Nonito Donaire versus Guillermo Rigondeaux: It would be an all-out war.

* Deontay Wilder versus Seth Mitchell: This fight should decide who the number one heavyweight from the U.S. is.

I am really looking forward to watching Sergio fight Chavez. Brandon Rios versus Mike Alvarado is another fight that promises to be action packed. Please share your views on who would you rather see fight?
