Silence from Fury about challenge from Wilder

Image: Silence from Fury about challenge from WilderBy Steven Ocallaghan: British heavyweight Tyson Fury so far has been quiet on the Deontay Wilder front. Wilder has publicly called Fury out, name calling and being just a little derogatory.

Wilder states no problem with Fury but has decided to act in the age old policy of name calling. Fury has still decided to stay silent. The fact for Fury is he is a top ranked heavyweight. Wilder isn’t even in the top 50. Why does Fury need to respond. A fight with Wilder is a step back.

Fury is looking to take on a top 20 fighter next as he is probably only 3 or 4 fights away from a title shot. Wilder is easily 8 or 10 fights away, judging by the level of opposition.

I’ve read other fighters are running scared of the “talented American” who is a 6’7 “powerhouse” with a “monstrous right hand.” Not my words I haste to add.

Talk is made of Fury being on the deck, but if anybody has seen the Wilder v 398lb Dustin Nichols fight when the obese Nichols put him down, mind you the ref waved for a no knockdown but clearly took his gloves and asked if he was fine, you will not be kidded.

Harold Sconiers managed to go 4 rounds, flooring Wilder. Sconiers was able to go 5 with British heavyweight Richard Towers, but Towers is only ever going to be National level.

Fury doesn’t need to reply to Wilder. Both the same age but a world apart in levels of opposition. If Wilder ever becomes good enough I’m sure their paths will eventually cross
