Image: Another loss for Pacquiao and he may need to consider retirement or cashing outBy Chris Williams: For Manny Pacquiao’s sake I hope he chooses his next fight very carefully because another loss for him will be his second consecutive defeat, and I don’t think he’ll be able to come back from that. You can already say that Pacquiao has lost his last two fights because his win over 38-year-old Juan Manuel Marquez last November was a highly controversial win.

Pacquiao is considering rematches against Marquez and Tim Bradley for his November 10th fight. Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum should instead be looking for some softer targets than this because Marquez and Bradley already proved that they’ve got the Filipino’s number.

Nothing good can come of Arum matching him back up with either of those guys because the best that Pacquiao can hope for is winning a controversial decision. He’s not going to knockout either of those guys, and he doesn’t have the legs, stamina or the boxing skills to clearly beat them. The thing is for Pacquiao to beat Marquez and Bradley he’d have to be able to fight hard and use his legs. I don’t believe that he can do either at this point now that age is starting to rear it’s ugly head with him.

Here are the options for Pacquiao if he gets beaten in his November fight:

* Retire – It might be better for Pacquiao to get out before he starts getting beaten over and over again and ends up ruining his legacy

* Face weaker opposition – this might be the best bet if Pacquiao is committed to continuing to fight and make big money.

* Cash out fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr – this is definitely an option that Pacquiao should take if he’s smart because the big money that Pacquiao can get in a fight against Mayweather will get smaller and smaller the longer Pacquiao waits with losses piling up.
