This exciting fight will be part of a triple-header shown by HBO on September 8th. In addition to the great Ward vs. Dawson fight, boxing fans will be able to see on HBO an undercard fight between WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (27-2-1, 20 KO’s) vs. John Molina Jr. (24-1, 19 KO’s), as well as a split site fight between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KO’s) and unbeaten challenger Manuel Charr (21-0, 11 KO’s) in Moscow, Russia.

The real treat in the card will be the Dawson-Ward fight. That bout will show the best fighter at super middleweight, Ward, taking on the best fighter at light heavyweight in Dawson. It’s always excellent when you get to see the two best fighters from different weight classes mixing it up.

Dawson, 29, feels confident enough about his chances at winning this fight to move down in weight seven pounds from 175 lbs to 168 lbs just to make it happen. Dawson is also brave in that he’s going to be traveling to Oakland, California to fight Ward in his home city at the Oracle Arena, in Oakland, California.

Few fighters nowadays are willing to take chances like Dawson, because they’re afraid of being drained or getting robbed. However, Dawson believes in himself and he feels he’s going to beat Ward and it doesn’t matter that he’ll be fighting in front of a large crowd of likely 10,000 rooting Ward fans. He feels he can win this bout no matter how many fans Ward packs in the Oracle Arena on September 8th.
