Jones doesn’t care that he’s going to be pretty much the only American in in the arena on Saturday, because his only focus will be exposing Brook to his fans.

Jones said at their recent press conference “He’s never been in the ring with anyone as bad as I am. I feel sorry for you on July 7th.”

With a bunch of Brit fans giving Brook confidence, Brook fired back “I don’t like the kid. I can’t wait to knock your a** out. You’ve been beat before. I don’t think I’ve ever lost a round, and you sure aren’t going to touch me. You’re going to get smoked.”

I wouldn’t brag about having never lost a round before if I were Brook, because isn’t as if he’s ever fought anyone good before. Brook has been on a serious 8-year soft ride with easy opposition each time out. I believe in some fighters needing to take a slow approach to their careers, but this is ridiculous. The training wheels should have come off of Brook eons ago.

Brook should have gotten to the level of fighting Jones at least four years ago. Instead, we’ve had eight years of easy fights for Brook, and of course he’s not going to lose many rounds. Brook has definitely lost rounds before, though, because he faded badly in the last four rounds in his last fight against light hitting Matthew Hatton last March. I had Hatton winning the last four rounds, as Brook looked completely gassed out like an eight round fighter.
