Image: Spinks could have problems with Bundrage's power on Saturday(Photo: Casino/Showtime) By Eric Thomas: Former two division world champion Cory Spinks (39-6, 11 KO’s) will be facing IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius Bundrage (31-4, 18 KO’s) for the second time when they meet up on Saturday night at the Fantasy Springs Casino, in Indio, California.

The 34-year-old Spinks didn’t last very long in his previous fight with Bundrage, as he was bludgeoned into submission in five rounds. It was a fight very similar to the first Joe Frazier vs. George Foreman fight where Frazier simply didn’t have the size or the power to stand up to Foreman, and was quickly blasted out. Spinks was overwhelmed by Bundrage’s huge power advantage. Spinks made it harder on himself by retreating to the ropes and trying to fight Bundrage from that position.

It really didn’t matter if Spinks was on the ropes or moving around the ring, however, because Bundrage was slaughtering him no matter what part of the ring Spinks was positioned. He did a great job of cutting off the ring and forcing Spinks to slug with him.

Spinks may regret that he decided to fight Bundrage again. I guess this as the best he could do, because he’s not getting a fight against WBC champ Saul Alvarez or WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. Spinks would have to do a lot more than just beating Sechew Powell and Shakir Ashanti to fight the likes of Mayweather or Alvarez.

I expect Bundrage to easily Spinks on Saturday night just like he did last time. Spinks doesn’t have the power to stand up to Bundrage, and now that Spinks has gotten older, it’ll be a lot easier for the 39-year-old Bundrage to catch up to him and chop him down.
