Image: Pacquiao: I'm going to get my title backBy Chris Williams: While Bob Arum of Top Rank doesn’t sound committed to having his cash cow fighter Manny Pacquiao fight a rematch against Tim Bradley in November, it looks like Pacquiao is interested in making the fight so that he can try and recapture his lost WBO welterweight strap.

Pacquiao told ESPN “My supporters shouldn’t worry. We’re going to get that title.”

Pacquiao is scheduled to return to the ring on November 10th. It looked at first like he was going to fight a rematch against Bradley, at least that’s what Pacquiao said after his loss to Bradley earlier this month. However, Arum seems disinterested in the fight, because he feels it was too much of a one-sided fight.

It wasn’t a one-sided fight no matter how you want to look at it. The judges saw that Pacquiao wasn’t able to fight for the full three minutes of every round, and they decided not to give him rounds in which he only worked 30 seconds at the end of the round.

If Arum considers a fight one-sided where Pacquiao only fights hard in the last seconds of the round, then that’s pretty disappointing. If all Pacquiao has to do is fight hard for a tiny portion of every round to win it then I think he’ll be able to continue win fights for a few more years. However, if the judges are doing their job and looking at which fighter is working hard for the full three minutes of every round then I see Pacquiao losing a lot more fights in the future.

Arum likely will try and steer Pacquiao into a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez rather than Bradley because it would be a bigger paying bout for Pacquiao – and Arum. It would bring in more cash and Pacquiao wouldn’t have to worry about having to cut off the ring against Marquez. He’d be right there so that Pacquiao wouldn’t have to deal with movement like he did in the Bradley fight.
