Image: Froch having second thoughts about facing Bute in Canada?By Scott Gilfoid: After having beaten former IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute recently in a fight that took place in Nottingham, UK, Carl Froch (29-2, 21 KO’s) now suddenly isn’t so eager to travel to Montreal, Canada to face Bute in his adopted home city in front of 15,000 angry Canadians.

Froch and Bute have a two-fight contract where their first fight allowed Froch to fight in front of his British fans in Nottingham, and then the second fight to be held in Montreal in front of Bute’s fans. But it looks like Froch isn’t so eager to fight Bute in Canada now.

Froch said to Sky Sports News “There’s obviously the rematch clause for Bute. I’m not sure how that’s going in terms of whether I want to go to Canada or not whether he even wants me to fight him.”

Wow, it sounds like Froch is trying to weasel out of fighting Bute in Canada. Bute already said he wants the rematch, so there’s no problem on that end. But to see Froch now saying that he’s not sure he wants to fight Bute in Canada. Man, what happened to the contract? Is Froch just going to skip out on that after having won in front of his British fans? I guess Froch doesn’t want to fight in front of a horde of angry Bute fans. I can imagine Bute will be out for blood in the rematch knowing exactly how to beat Froch this time around. Bute is highly intelligent and he knows himself what he did wrong in their fight in Nottingham. He’s not going to make the same mistakes again, and he’ll no doubt be looking to box Froch’s head off.

Of course, none of this will matter if Froch gets whipped by Mikkel Kessler in their talked about fight. Froch is insisting on taking that fight before a rematch against Bute, and we’ve already see Froch get beaten once by Kessler. There’s no mystery about what Kessler will do to Froch in a rematch in Nottingham unless we get some of that controversial judging that we saw in the Froch vs. Andre Dirrell fight that also took place in Nottingham.
