Vitali is running for Parliament in Ukraine, and there’s a high chance that he’ll get the spot. If he does get elected, he says he can’t juggle both careers and will opt to retire from boxing.

Vitali said to the German news site Bild.de “I can’t sit on two chairs.”

The still largely unproven 27-year-old Charr said “I’m a tank. I’m going to flatten Vitali.”

It’s interesting that Charr is talking about himself as if he’s a big power puncher, because he’s not really a slugger. He’s got decent power and size at 6’3″, 245 lbs, but I don’t see Charr as a puncher. He’s someone that has to land a lot of shots in order to stop an opponent, and I don’t think he’s good enough to beat a lot of the top contenders in the division.

Against Vitali, it’s a mismatch. Charr doesn’t have the size or the talent to win this fight. He’s likely only being considered because he’s well known and somewhat popular in Germany where Vitali fights all of his bouts. None of the other top contenders – David Price, Seth Mitchell and Tyson Fury – are ready to step inside the ring with Vitali. Charr is perhaps the best of what’s left in the top 15 WBC rankings. The pickings are very slim, so Charr would get the shot almost by default because of all the poor choices available to Vitali.

Vitali’s manager Bernd Boente said this about Charr: “You’re not armored. You’re a lame bus, if that.”
