Ariza is reportedly back with Pacquiao and training him at Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles.

Ariza recently left training camp with Pacquiao in the Philippines in order to fly to the United States to help out with the conditioning of another Top Rank fighter WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. This move by Ariza didn’t please Bob Arum or Freddie Roach, both of which didn’t see it as a good thing with Pacquiao having an important fight with undefeated Tim Bradley coming up on June 9th.

There was speculation that Pacquiao would dump Ariza and find another strength trainer to help him get ready for the Bradley fight. However, Ariza is back with Pacquiao and they’ll be working together today to get ready for Bradley.

This was the perfect opportunity for Pacquiao to get rid of Ariza if he was looking for an excuse because with Ariza leaving training camp to work with another fighter, that’s it would have needed for Pacquiao to get a fresh start with another trainer. As you know, Pacquiao has been suffering leg cramps in his last several fights with Ariza as his conditioning trainer. When you get conditions like that you need to start a process of elimination to try and get to the root of the problem. By now, Pacquiao should have changed his diet, focused more on staying hydrated, and looked closely at the kinds of exercises that Ariza is having him do. If the diet and hydration isn’t working, then Pacquiao might need to look to change up the conditioning. I don’t know Ariza would take to being said no to when it comes to his exercise regimen but Pacquiao needs to do something. He can’t afford to get leg cramps against Bradley and hope to still win.
