Not much will have changed when they step foot in the ring on the 19th next month other than the venue, the judges and the referee. That’s about it.

Khan supposedly has made a ton of changes to his fighting style for the Peterson rematch, but don’t you believe it. Khan will be Khan on May 19th, meaning he’ll be flapping around the ring like a bird all night long, pushing off, pulling down on Peterson’s head and putting him in headlocks that would make an WWE wrestler proud. It’ll be like watching a boxer vs. an MMA/wrestler/boxer hybrid. Will the referee working the fight do anything to police Khan’s constant fouls? I doubt it. He’ll probably just take it all in and give Peterson warnings for this or that. I’m hoping the referee does his job and takes points off or disqualifies Khan if he can’t abide by the boxing rules of the sport on May 19th, but I see Khan getting away with whatever he wants to in this fight.

Peterson needs to be planning for what he can do to try and make himself competitive if Khan is allowed to foul. He could try yanking down on Khan’s neck in return or shoving him around the ring all night long. After all, Peterson has the longer arms, so I suppose he might be able to hold his own in a shoving contest. I used to see shoving contests in elementary school between boys in my class. I even saw a girl beat up the toughest guy in my class by shoving repeatedly each time he tried to get in range to land one of his big homerun punches that no doubt would have ended the fight had any of them landed. But this girl literally beat him by shoving him and eventually shoved straight into a wall where his head connected to the wall and he was sent down.
