Image: Pacquiao: Bradley will have nowhere to runBy Chris Williams: WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao had some interesting things to say about his upcoming June 9th opponent Tim Bradley as well as Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an interview by Badua of NBN 4’s Teledyaryo Sports as quoted by examiner.com.

Pacquiao said this about Mayweather “Maybe he’s no ready for me yet.”

Mayweather is ready for Pacquiao, but it looks like Pacquiao wants more money than Mayweather is willing to give him for the fight. Mayweather no longer sees Pacquiao as being worthy of a 50-50 deal after less than impressive fights against Joshua Clottey, Shane Mosley, Antonio Margarito and Juan Manuel Marquez in his last four fights. Pacquiao isn’t dominating his opponents in the same way that Mayweather is.

Pacquiao could get a fight with Mayweather no problem as long as he’s willing to take a smaller percentage. Mayweather offered Pacquiao good money during their last negotiation, more money that Pacquiao ever got before, but he turned it down. That may be as good as it gets for Pacquiao and yet he turned it down.

Pacquiao said this about Bradley: “He will have nowhere to run.”

This is wishful thinking for Pacquiao, because Bradley isn’t a runner. He’s quite the opposite and he won’t be running. He’ll be the one that’s pushing the fight to Pacquiao and blasting away at him on the inside and making him use his legs.

The writer at examiner.com suggested that Pacquiao will use his side to side movement to avoid Bradley’s shots, but I don’t see that happening. Pacquiao can’t jump around anymore for some reason. He’s now strictly a plodder type fighter who comes in flat footed to exchange. He’ll be there to be hit by Bradley in this fight and it won’t be a case where Pacquiao has to chase him. If anything, it’ll be Bradley that does the chasing.
