Image: Peterson still has WBA title unless Khan can take it from him on 5/19By Scott Gilfoid: Well, it appears former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan spoke too soon when he said earlier today on his twitter that the World Boxing Association had “Still have me as WBA super champion!” According to fightnews.com, that’s not the case. WBA Vice President Gilberto J.

Mendoza tweeted back today saying that Khan hasn’t been given his WBA title back and that he’ll have to win it back in the ring on May 19th against IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Lamont Peterson in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ouch! hat’s got to hurt! Oh well, if Khan is as good as he says he is then he should be able to beat Peterson no problem on May 19th and win back both titles, right? But if Khan gets beaten again like he did last time and has to resort to fouling to try and get a win, then he can forget it. I just hope he doesn’t appeal his loss if gets beaten again. The last thing we need is a fighter complaining 24/7 about their losses.

It’s so much better when they accept their defeats with a stiff upper lip and don’t bellyache about it 24/7/. Khan just needs to take the emotional pain from losing next time and not start harping about for a million years to a small audience of sympathizers. It’s so much better when a fighter just takes his loss and moves on instead of complaining all day and night. Don’t you hate that? Be stoic like Carl Froch when he got whipped by Andre Ward.
