Khan wants to go after WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia (23-0, 14 KO in a unification bout at 140, and then possibly move up to welterweight to fight Kell Brook. Following those fights, Khan hopes to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2013.

Khan told Fighthype.com “Fight against someone like Garcia…Maybe that would be a good fight and I can win all three titles…maybe knockout someone like Kell Brook.”

Khan doesn’t exactly sound definite in his plans, as if none of this is really been stewed over completely in his head yet. It probably doesn’t matter anyway because there’s a very good possibility that Khan will lose again to Peterson in May, and Garcia could lose in his first defense of his World Boxing Council title against his no.1 challenger Ajose Olusegun. Garcia didn’t look invincible in beating a shot Erik Morales last weekend. If anything, Garcia looked very beatable.

This is perhaps why Khan wants to move in and take him out to try and take advantage of the brief bit of publicity that Garcia received for beating the 35-year-old Morales. However, facing and beating Garcia really isn’t necessary because this guy is got his work cut out for him just trying to get past Olusegun and some of the other top contenders in the division, let alone facing a former two-time champion.

It’s doubtful that Khan would be allowed to fight Kell Brook when he moves up in weight to 147. I can’t see that happening, although it would be a good fight. Look for Khan to get matched against an old toothless lion like Shane Moskey so that Khan doesn’t take a risky fight where he could get beaten before his big money dream fight against Mayweather Jr. if the fight ever takes place.
