Holt destroys Coleman in an embarrassingly easy win
By Jim Dower: 30-year-old former WBO light welterweight champion Kendall Holt (28-5, 16 KO’s) showed his class on Friday night stopping 27-year-old Tim Coleman (19-3-1, 5 KO’s) in the 2nd round of an embarrassingly easy win at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, in Cabazon, California, U.S.
Holt knocked the badly overmatchd Coleman four times in total before referee Ray Corona stepped in and halted the fight at 2:23 of the 2nd round after Coleman’s corner tossed in the towel. Coleman never was knocked down once in the 1st round from a body shot and then put down over and over again in the 2nd. For Coleman, this is his second consecutive loss, as he was stopped in the 7th round last August by Vernon Paris. Holt had come into the fight having lost three out of his last five fights.
In undercard action, unbeaten featherweight Abraham Lopez (17-0, 12 KO’s) defeated Gabriel Tolmajyan (11-2-1, 3 KO’s) by an eight round unanimous decision by the scores of 78-74, 78-74 and 79-73.
