After the fight the 31-year-old Geale mentioned wanting to come to the United States to possibly take on former WBC/WBO middleweight champion Jermain Taylor and WBC Diamond middleweight champion Sergio Martinez next. Geale said this as quoted by fightnews.com “A fight with Jermain Taylor is also intriguing being that we were both Olympians in the 2000 Sydney Games. I’m ready to fight the best out there, including Sergio Martinez.”

I think Geale would have a ton of problems against either of those guys due to their speed, punching power, accuracy and boxing ability. Taylor may have had problems in the past getting knocked out by big punchers, but he does really well against guys like Geale with zero power. In fact, I think Taylor would easily beat him much like he did second tier fighter Jessie Nicklow last December. Geale is there to be hit despite his reputation as being a slick fighter.

Adama had problems hitting him because he had terrible accuracy and was just looking to load up on all of his shots all night long. Taylor wouldn’t have to do that because he has such an awesome jab, left hook and right hand. He’s a lot faster than Adama and Geale, and it would be a really bad fight for Geale to take because of that. As far Geale’s chances against Sergio Martinez, I’d say there slim and none. That wouldn’t work out well for Geale if he took that fight because Martinez would catch up to him eventually and he’d put a real hurting on him as soon as he lands one of his big lefts.
