Froch: I think I can beat Bute with no problems

By Scott Gilfoid: Carl Froch (28-2, 20 KO’s) seems to be dreaming again because he thinks he’s going to take care of IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24 KO’s) with no doubt in their May 26th fight in Nottingham, UK.

How Froch contrives to see himself winning the fight when he can’t even beat Mikkel Kesslel and Andre Ward is the big question. And don’t make me throw in Andre Dirrel’s name in the hat, because we saw what Dirrell did to Froch in Nottingham in 2009.

Froch told Prahova “His [Bute] record does not include important names. It is difficult to asses. To say that I will not beat Bute is absurd and ridculous. I feel I can beat him without problems.”

We what I mean? Froch is dream land. He’s not going to win this fight and for him to even blabber about how he’s going to win this fight after what Ward did to him. That was pure schooling by Ward. Froch says that he lost to Ward because he’s the best fighter in the world at super middleweight right now. We don’t know that. For all we know Bute or one of the Dirrell brothers are the best in the world. We’re not going to find that out until Bute has beaten Froch and then taken on Ward followed by the Dirrell brothers if he somehow gets past Ward. He won’t, of course, but IF he does get past Ward, then he’s got to run the gauntlet.

Froch is going to find out quickly on May 26th that he really misjudged Bute when he starts getting drilled by the Romanian’s sneaky uppercuts. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Froch hit the canvas two or three times in the first six rounds because his style is perfect for Bute’s traps. Froch will plod forward all night walking into one trap after another mindlessly and the likely result will be Froch going up and down on the canvas like a yo-yo.
