Chisora, 28, recently had his license to fight revoked by the BBBofC for Chisora’s post-fight brawl with David Haye following Chisora’s loss to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko last month.

Chisora said this to RIA Novosti about getting a boxing license in Russia: “If they’ll give me one.”

Chisora came to Russia recently to attend the April 4th fight between Russian cruiserweight world contender Denis Lebedev vs. Shawn Cox at the Crocus City Hall, Myakinino, Russia.

It appears that Chisora can get the boxing license, according to the general secretary of the Russian Professional Boxing Federation, who said to RIA Novosti that they can give boxing licenses to “Whomever it likes, regardless of citizenship.”

Chisora would be taking a gamble by choosing to fight out of Russia because he just now is making a name for himself in his own country and who knows how long the BBBof C was planning on keeping him out of the ring. It might not be just a few months and for him to walk away from the UK could work against him. However, with the BBBof C not giving Chisora a definite date as to when he’ll be able to get his boxing license back, it puts him in a situation where might have to wait a lengthy amount of time before he finally is able to get his license back.

While some heavyweights like George Foreman and Vitali Klitschko were able to make a comeback after being out of the ring for a long period of time after retiring and coming back, they were much different cases. Both Foreman and Vitali were at or very to the top of the division when they retired. Chisora has lost three out of his last four fights. He’s not going to be able to jump back in things and start dominating after a lengthy period out of the ring because he’s getting beaten now more often than not. He can’t afford to stay out of the ring like those fighters.
