Somehow I’m not surprised.

In his column at thesun.co.uk, Warren listed the following categories:

* Strength
* Tactical brain
* Chin
* Heart
* Experience
* Stamina

Warren listed Vitali as having the advantage over Chisora in strength, tactical brain, and experience. He had Chisora and Vitali tied in the stamina, heart and chin categories.

As for the verdict, Warren thinks Vitali is the guy that wins on paper but thinks it could be Chisora that gets the win tonight.

It’s interesting but I don’t agree. You can dismiss stamina because Chisora won’t be around late in the fight to where stamina is an issue. Chin is another area you can dismiss because Vitali will get the stoppage anyway whether he had Chisora wobbling around the ring from a single shot or because he simply batters him over a long period of rounds. Even a fighter with the greatest chin can only handle so many shots to the head before he gets stopped.

If Chisora doesn’t go down on his own, believe me his corner or the referee will pull the plug on him to save him from taking too much punishment. This isn’t Shannon Briggs we’re talking about. Briggs was tall heavyweight 6’4″ 260 compared to the 6’1″ Chisora, and Briggs was able to fight on the outside the entire fight. That saved him from being stopped, although fight should have been stopped due to the punishment he took. Chisora will be coming straight at Vitali like Danny Williams and Chris Arreola did, and that means that Chisora is going to take a lot more punishment in the fight.

As such, my verdict is a brutal 7th round knockout win for Vitali over a bloody and barely recognizable Chisora. My verdict agrees with the on paper results that Warren had, but I didn’t go against the paper results because they make a lot of sense; too much sense to be ignored.
