Normally when a fighter slaps another, he stands his ground, but Chisora dashed backwards after the slap to the left side of Vitali’s face. It almost looked like Chisora was playing a game of tag.

Vitali was quoted by thesun.co.uk as saying “He [Chisora] is a coward. Why did he do this? Did you see how nervous he was? He hit and ran away. Then his team covered him up to stop me getting at him. You are f***** now, Dereck, you are really f***** now.”

It did look like Chisora was frighted, especially when he left almost immediately. When he arrived outside, his ride wasn’t there to pick him up and a very nervous looking Chisora kept saying “Where is my car.”

According to the Sun, Chisora is being paid £100,000 [$158,000] for the fight. However, Chisora could end up paying a big portion of that to fine by either the WBC or the British Boxing Board of Controls. Some ridiculously high figures have been tossed about and it’s hard to imagine Chisora losing one-third of his purse for the slap. Chisora’s purse reportedly will be withheld until after the BBBofC investigates the matter. It’s unclear if the BBBofC will be fining Chisora or just the WBC.

It’s been mentioned by fightnews that the WBC will be the one that is actually doing the fining. But if Chisora has to pay a fine to the WBC and British Boxing Board of Controls, then Chisora will be really bad off. He already turned down £70,000 to have a company advertise on the bottom of his shoes so that their advertisements can be seen if Chisora is knocked out. Obviously, they see Chisora as getting stopped in this fight.
