By Scott Gilfoid: We just saw episode 1 of Dereck Chisora resorting to a cheap shot against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko during the weigh-in on Friday in an act that had so many fans shaking their heads in disgust.

I’m really hoping Chisora doesn’t take it to the gutter again when he faces Vitali moments from now. It’s bad enough that Chisora brought shame to the UK with his slapping of Vitali, but I think it can worse than if Chisora tries any tricks tonight.

I’m praying that he fights a clean fight and doesn’t make the Brits look bad, because god only knows they need someone to shine for them right now after that god awful timid performance from British heavyweight David Haye last July against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko when Haye ran around the ring, flopping on the canvas every time you turned around and then blaming his poor performance on a toe injury. It’s pretty sad to say the least.

I just want Chisora to fight cleanly and go out on his shield tonight like a good one. He doesn’t stand a chance in this fight against Vitali, so the only real victory for him is to make him and his country proud. Do I think that’ll happen? No, I see Chisora taking the soft path by doing something odd and getting himself thrown out of the fight before he starts getting really pounded by Vitali.

Chisora’s best chance of winning this fight is if he can somehow keep away from Vitali for 9 or 10 rounds, and then try and ambush him in the 11th and 12th rounds with a furious assault. However, for that to happen Chisor would have to keep away from Vitli for 10 rounds because as soon as he catches up with the short Brit, he’ll descimate him with chopping right hands to the head. It’s a plan that could in theory work if Chisora was disciplined and didn’t get hot-headed and try to retaliate when he would get tagged every so often by Vitali. But I think Chisora would react badly and try and go to war with Vitali and end up getting smacked around in the early rounds.
