Mayweather far too much for Cotto

Floyd Mayweather Jr Miguel Cotto Cotto vs. Mayweather Cotto-MayweatherBy Sam Kerwood: Miguel Cotto (37-2 (30 KO’s) will be facing Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO’s) on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For some reason a lot of people are backing Cotto to give Mayweather a good fight. I know he’s stepping up a weight but when has that ever gave Floyd a problem? The man is a tactical master and can get his way out of any trouble.

A lot of people thought that Manny Pacquiao vs. Cotto was a mismatch, then why should this be any different to that fight. In fact, it should be easier for Floyd as he is a bigger fighter than Pacman is and should have no problem keeping Cotto at bay with his jab.

I for one was hoping Floyd would take a serious challenge in Sergio Martinez or maybe Saul “Canelo” Alveraz as he was saying he would if he could not get the Pacquiao fight. There is a long road ahead for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight; maybe too long that one fighter loses or retires first.

Cotto is over the hill in my view. He had a win against Antonio Margarito in his last fight, but all that prove is that he can beat a very low level opponent who I feel should of got a lifetime ban from boxing.
