Rogan, who has lost two out of his last four fights, said to the Mirror Sport “I have the key to get back into contention in my hand now. The Klitschko’s won’t want to fight [Dereck] Chisora again. Tyson Fury has been linked with them more than once, so if I beat him it’s only natural I am an option.”

That doesn’t sound very realistic. Rogan will be quite fortunate if he doesn’t get stopped by Fury. That’s what I see happening in this fight because Rogan has had problems with swollen eyes in his past fights and he’s going to be getting hit a lot by Fury in this fight. But if Rogan does somehow beat Fury, I don’t see it opening any doors for a Klitshko fight because Fury isn’t a big enough name for Rogan to erase his two losses to Sam Sexton in the past.

For Rogan to become an option for Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, Rogan would have to beat the likes of Denis Boytsov, David Price and Alexander Dimitrenko, in addition to a win over Fury. At age 40, I can’t see that happening in a million years. It will be a major achievement if the 6’2″ Rogan even beat Fury, but for him to beat a more established world class heavyweight contender, it’s going to be almost impossible for Rogan to accomplish that.

Fury recently gave up his British and Commonwealth titles in order to avoid a fight with Price. Fury hopes to get a title shot against one of the Klitschko brothers in 2012 or 2013, and can’t afford a loss to Price if he wants to get it.
