Image: Haye: I know Vitali will easily beat ChisoraBy William Mackay: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye doesn’t see tonight’s fight between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko vs. Dereck Chisora in Munich, Germany having any real surprises.

Haye sees it as a cut and dried case where Vitali goes out and beats Chisora.

Speaking with talksport.co.uk, Haye said “I know Chisora hasn’t got a chance of winning.”

Haye’s thoughts pretty much echo those of the entire boxing world except for a small pocket of loyal Chisora fans that are rooting for him in part due to British loyalty. But in real terms, Chisora was way, way, way over his head in this fight and his best chance of winning is if Vitali’s suffers a serious injury like the one that caused him to lose to Chris Byrd in 2000 when Vitali tore up his shoulder in the fight. The thing with Chisora is he’s losing to guys guys that Vitali would easily beat in Tyson Fury and Robert Helenius.

Neither of those fighters would even cause Vitali to break a sweat, and Chisora lost to both. That kind of tells you that Chisora shouldn’t be fighting Vitali tonight; Fury or Helenius should. Chisora is more like a fodder opponent brought in mostly due to his ability to market a fight with his over the top behavior. We saw a little of that during the weigh-in on Friday when Chisora slapped Vitali across the face. It really shouldn’t have been a surprise for Vitali because Chisora often does wild things before his fight to unsettle his opponents. He obviously had to go a step further with Vitali because he wasn’t effected by Chisora’s mental games like Chisora’s previous opponents had been.

Haye says that he previously agreed to financial terms for a fight against Vitali last December. However, Vitali then changed his mind and wanted to give him less money for the fight and that’s obviously gotten in the way of him signing on.

Haye said “We got it all agreed, we were waiting for a contract to come through, but no contract came through…Then all of a sudden he starts making noises that I was demanding too much money, yet the money had already been agreed.”

Apparently, RTL lowered the amount of money they would pay for the fight, Haye said, and that had Vitali saying that Haye’s money would have to come down. It makes sense but it doesn’t look like Haye was too interested in having his money decreased.
