Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, has been talking about a November fight because them but that seems to be a diversion from reality because Arum is already talking about a four man tournament involving Pacquiao that will end in November, which would make a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight impossible.

Richard Schaefer, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, isn’t surprised that Arum isn’t planning on putting Pacquiao with Mayweather.

Schaefer doesn’t see Mayweather fighting Pacquiao in November. Schaefer told ringtv “All those people who thought they were going to see a November Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, you know, they were just dreaming. Arum is not going to put Pacquiao in with Floyd because he know what Pacquiao is going to lose. The only time Arum is going to put Pacquiao in with Floyd is when Pacquiao is at the end of his career.”

That’s the way I see it as well working out for Mayweather-Pacquiao. I think Arum will wait until Pacquiao is showing serious signs of decline and/or is telling Arum that he wants out of the sport. I then see Arum cashing out with a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight at that point where he won’t try and call shots by building arenas in other such nonsense. I can see him taking any venue that Mayweather wants just so he can get that last payday.

Schaefer sees Arum matching Pacquiao up next year in the later half when Pacquiao is about to get out of the sport.

The opponent for Mayweather Jr’s next fight could be learned within one two three days says Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. The names that Mayweather is considering right now are WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez. Mayweather doesn’t have any problems with fighting over 150lbs, unlike Manny Pacquiao, who won’t fight Cotto at 150 even though it’s the best payday out there for Pacquiao other than Mayweather.
