Image: Price believes Chisora will be in serious difficulty with VitaliBy Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight David Price believes that heavyweight challenger Dereck Chisora (15-2, 9 KO’s) is really in for it against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) when they meet up next month on February 18th in Munich, Germany.

Price, 28, knows Chisora really well, as he’s helped Chisora get ready for Vitali by sparring with him frequently. Price still feels that Chisora could a very tough time against the 40-year-old Vitali in this fight.

Price said to frankmaloney.com “I’ve done plenty of sparring [with Chisora]…He’s a bit more trim now, so he’s got more speed. Of course, he has a chance; it’s heavyweight boxing, so…But he is going to be up against it.”

Price has also been used as a sparring partner to get Klitschko opponents – Jean Marc Mormeck, Albert Sosnowski, David Haye and Odlanier Solis ready to face the Klitschkos. But for some reason, it’s never seenmed to help because they lose anyway to the Klitschkos. Mormeck still hasn’t gotten his chance to fight Wladimir Klitschko, but it’s safe to say Mormeck will be destroyed along the rest of the overmatched opposition the Klitschkos have faced.

Chisora is giving away six inches in height and an equal amount in reach against the 6’7” Vitali. Chisora, 245lbs, will likely weigh roughly the same amount as the 250 pound Vitali, it won’t make any difference in the outcome. Chisora is slow on his feet and an easy target because of his rounded body. He’s not like Mike Tyson, a shorter, fast and powerful heavyweight.

Chisora is more like a short, slow, and moderately powerful heavyweight. He’s ranked at #15 by the WBC, which gives you a pretty good indication about his talent level. I do think he would knockout David Price if they were to fight but I don’t think he’ll get the chance to fight him. Price is being matched against lesser fighters right now and Chisora would be a huge risk to his career progress.
