Earlier today, Mayweather attended court to have his 90 day jail sentence, which was supposed to start today, delayed until June 1st, and it approved.

However, Bob Arum, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao’s promoter, still isn’t interested in matching Pacquiao up with Mayweather on May 5th, even though Pacquiao is expected to be back in the ring in April or May. I guess this kind of tells you all you need to know about Arum’s interest in seeing his cash cow fighter Pacquiao fight Mayweather.

Arum is looking to match Pacquiao up with the following fighters: Miguel Cotto, Lamont Peterson, Timothy Bradley, and Juan Manuel Marquez next.

Previously, Arum had used Mayweather’s 90 day jail sentence as an excuse for why he couldn’t match Pacquiao up with him next. He said he wanted to make that fight next but since Mayweather was going to be serving a jail sentence, he would have to match his fighter Pacquiao with someone else. However, now that Mayweather isn’t going to be serving time until June, Arum reportedly is cool to the idea of matching Pacquiao up with Mayweather and is still going with picking one of the four fighters that he’s been looking at for the past couple of weeks.

In an article at Mlive.com, Arum responded to the news about Mayweather not serving his sentence until June 1st, saying “I don’t think it has any impact. No impact at all. Manny isn’t going to be ready to fight until summertime.”

Wow! Arum is now saying Pacquiao won’t fight until June or July? Before the Mayweather news came out today, Pacquiao was supposed to be fighting in April or May, but not all of a sudden Arum has changed this to the summer? How sad. I smell fear. Looks like Arum is keeping Pacquiao away from Mayweather. I’m not surprised because I think that’s reason we’ve never seen the fight in the past when the two fighters attempted to put a fight together last year.
