Koncz will be meeting on Sunday thought Tuesday in Las Vegas to try and make the fight.

Koncz has his work cut out for him, though, because Mayweather told ESPN that he’s not willing to give Pacquiao a 50-50 deal, as he wants him to take a smaller cut of the revenue before he’ll agree to fight him. Additionally, Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s Top Rank promoter, says Mayweather has to agree to a 50-50 deal for Pacquiao AND he has to agree to fight on either May 26th, June 9th or in November or there’s no deal.

Mayweather reportedly can’t move from his May 5th fight date at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Arum believes Mayweather can and don’t understand why he doesn’t go back before Las Vegas judge Melissa Saragosa to try and get his 90-day jail term moved back once again from June 1st to a later date.

Arum doesn’t like Mayweather’s May 5th date because he’s having a large 40,000 seat outdoor arena built on the Las Vegas strip and it’s not expected to be completed until the end of May. Arum doesn’t say what he’ll do with the huge empty arena if Pacquiao doesn’t fight Mayweather, as it’s too much arena for any of the four fighters that Arum handpicked for Pacquiao to fight if Mayweather doesn’t get selected. Arum could be stuck with a useless albatross if Mayweather fight doesn’t happen and he doesn’t agree to fight Pacquiao in November either.

Koncz told the Manila Standard “This is very delicate and very sensitive.”

There are some people who believe that Arum really doesn’t want the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, and is just going through the motions to save Pacquiao for the lesser fighters that he’s been making good money against for the past three years. Mayweather could be saved until Pacquiao is on his last legs and then the fight will be made in what some people refer to as a cash out fight for Arum and Pacquiao.
