It’ll be taking place at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Geale, 30, will be making his 2nd defense of his IBF title won last year in a close 12 round split decision win over Sebastian Sylvester in May.

Geale took a really soft pick in his first defense of his IBF title last August against fringe contend Eromosele Albert, winning a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision win in an ugly to watch fight. Now Geale is forced to defend his title against his mandatory challenger Adama and that could prove to be a very difficult fight for Geale.

Adama has good power but is kind of raw and has a habit of throwing arm punches at times. But he’s strong and throws a mean uppercut. Adama could have problems landing his power shots against Geale, as the champion likes to bounce around the ring with constant movement. It’s really ugly style to watch and it’s pretty clear that Geale would have never won the IBF title if a better champion had the belt like Sergio Martinez, Gennady Golovkin or Dmitriy Pirog. Even Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Felix Sturm would likely be too good for Geale.

Adama beat Roman Karmazin by a 9th round TKO last October in the IBF middleweight title eliminator bout. Adama’s experience before that fight was limited. He was beaten by Dyah Davis and Don George, two decent but not great super middleweights.

Geale isn’t that great and could lose this fight if Adama is able to put enough pressure on him to cut off the ring to prevent his bounching around. Adama has to keep Geale from hitting and running, because he’ll do this all night long if Adama lets him.
