By John F. McKenna (McJack): Every drug test that welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KO’s) has taken has been clean. Pacquiao was ordered by the athletic commissions with jurisdiction to his fights to provide the results of the results of those tests to the courts in relation to a motion filed by World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO’s).

Mayweather’s legal team filed the motion in an effort to diffuse the defamation law suit brought against Floyd by Pacquiao’s legal team.

In addition to the drug tests Mayweather attorneys asked that records be provided by every doctor who has treated Pacquiao with the intent of determining whether or not Pacquiao has ever used steroids or any performance enhancing drugs (PEDS) of any kind.

The Mayweather team is hopeful that evidence will show up in the testing that has previously been done which indicates that Manny has used PED’s in the past. Any evidence of such illegal use by Pacquiao would severely damage his defamation case against Mayweahter.

Mayweather missed several schedule depositions related to the case and finally submitted to the deposition after receiving a warning by the judge.

Manny is also slated to give a deposition in the defamation case. His adviser Michael Koncz was quoted in the Manila Standard saying:

“Because of Floyd’s pending incarceration the lawyer suggested that we postpone giving the deposition now which I did.”

Mayweather will begin serving a 90 day prison sentence in Clark County Detention Center on Friday related to a domestic violence case involving the mother of his children Josie Harris.

It had been hoped that the long sought match between Pacquiao and Mayweather might finally come to pass in May or June of this year. At this point with the uncertainty of when Floyd will get out of jail and when he will be ready to fight again, Manny is planning to go ahead and line up an opponent for the same time frame as the anticipated match with Mayweather.

It is also unclear as to whether or not Floyd will require a tune up fight before fighting Pacquiao. By the time Floyd fights again it will most likely have been a year since his abbreviated fight with Victor Ortiz. Before the Ortiz fight Mayweather had not fought in sixteen months.
